Group Size

Group Size

Why is group size such an important thing to consider when planning your trip?

  1. To minimise our visual and noise impact on other user groups – “less is more”.
  2. We encourage different groups to use different routes to minimise the impact on the terrain.
  3. Keeping groups smaller makes them easier to manage. This includes both road junctions and lane entrances / exits. Lanes entrances can often be difficult to spot and lane exists often have poor visibility. The bigger the group the more impatient other drivers behind the group may be, and  may attempt to pass the group event when not safe to do so.
  4. If encountering other users on single track lanes, it minimises the challenge of getting one set of users past another set.
  5. If driving dead ends, or finding unpassable blockages, it makes it easier to find spots to turn around.
